Coaching
|
As much as I enjoy writing, coaching is my greatest source of professional satisfaction. I look at my interactions with clients as a spiritual practice of openness and presence. The result is a warm and encouraging space to explore life challenges and opportunities.
I particularly enjoy collaborating with those who are undergoing difficult transitions or periods of stagnation filled with uncertainty and doubt. I have many years of personal experience exploring that terrain and I am a curious and enthusiastic co-adventurer. |
Drawing on my academic background in critical theories of writing, part of that collaboration involves helping clients notice the storytelling elements in their current concerns. Highlighting those elements can inspire them to reauthor their stories in more creative and useful ways. That process nurtures increased self-knowledge and psychological and spiritual growth.
I also encourage clients to bring mindful awareness to our coaching interactions and to their daily lives. My approach to mindfulness emphasizes how experimentation with practices applied to ordinary situations can lead to more satisfying experiences. Even frustrating or tedious situations can become sources of insight when we offer them a deeper quality of attention.
If any of that resonates with you, I hope you will reach out to learn more about how we might work together.
